Biography
2016: A physically gifted athlete who can play in central defense and outside back...has the ability to stay in front of opposing forwards and track down plays when necessary...provides a strong presence in the air on set pieces...returns as one of Longwood's top defenders after a breakout junior season that included 13 starts and more than 1,100 minutes in the backfield.
2015: Enjoyed a breakout junior campaign, starting 13 of 19 games while logging a career-high 1,161 minutes on the pitch…started the final 10 games of the season, playing at least 50 minutes in all of those outings…topped the 80-minute plateau four times, including a career-high 93 minutes in a 1-1 draw against Gardner-Webb (10/10)…played 50-plus minutes in shutouts against Richmond (9/20), Winthrop (9/30), Radford (10/7), Charleston Southern (10/17) and UNC Asheville (10/24)…attempted eight shots, putting three on goal…a Longwood Scholar-Athlete…named to the Big South Presidential Honor Roll…served on the Longwood Student Athlete Advisory Committee…organized the SAAC team in the on-campus Relay For Life event and raised more than $2,000 dollars for the fundraising event.
2014: Played in eight games as a member of the defensive rotation, including a pair of starts...averaged 36.5 minutes per game while playing 40-plus minutes four times...started and played a career-high 59 minutes in a 2-1 loss against American (8/22)...also started and contributed 45 minutes in a 1-1 draw against Western Carolina (8/29)...played 53 minutes off the bench in a 6-1 blowout over Francis Marion (9/30).
2013: Played 27 minutes spread across three games...made appearances against VMI (10/2), Gardner-Webb (10/12) and UNC Asheville (10/26)...Longwood won all thre of those games by a combined score of 10-0.
High School: Four-year team member at Jefferson Forest, helping JFHS to four Virginia Group AA State Tournament appearances … All-State, All-Region, All-District and All-Area Player of the Year by the Lynchburg News & Advance as a senior … All-Region and All-District as a junior … All-District as a freshman and sophomore … also participated in basketball and indoor track.
Personal: Daughter of Mary Sue and Gary O’Bryant … father played football at the University of Richmond … traveled to Puerto Rico to visit family and went on a mission trip with church during summer 2013 … volunteers with church and organized a 5K run that raised over $5,000 for autism.
