2017-18 (Freshman): Collected eight wins in just one semester of collegiate tennis including a 5-4 record at the first flight...played all 19 matches at the top two flights...named Big South Freshman of the Week (Jan. 31) after a three-set victory in her Lancer debut, propelling the team to a 6-0 win...had the second-most Big South wins on the team...collected eight doubles wins, seven coming at the second flight...four of her eight doubles wins came with partner Jamie Breunig...won five of her final eight decisions...had a three-set win in Longwood's historic comeback in Big South quarterfinals

High School: Yulia Almiron comes to Longwood after a successful stint in the junior circuit in Spain where she was a finalist at the 2015 Madrid Master tournament…participated in multiple WTA tournaments, most-notably the El Espinar where current top-20 players in the world have competed.

Personal: Daughter of Jesus Jorge Almiron and Maria Esperanza Almiron…has a younger sibling (Jesus – 14)…majoring in chemistry.
