Fall 2008: Finished the fall season 5-4 overall in singles ... 5-5 in doubles with teammate Billy Heird ... Went undefeated (3-0) in doubles at the UMW Inviational and won the Flight D consolation draw at UVA Invitational.

2007-08: Winner of doubles Flight A consolation draw at the UVA Fall Invitational … Undefeated at Mary Washington Invitational at #2 singles ... Finished 10-6 in spring singles, including an 8-2 record from the No. 3 position ... Earned team singles MVP honors ... Ended the year with a 9-5 record in doubles, which included a 9-4 record with teammate Billy Heird from the No. 1 spot.

2006-07: Team MVP in doubles as a freshman posting a 10-4 record and a great year in singles posting a 10-5 record at the #2 position.

Before Longwood: Was in top 300 of ITF World Juniors in the 18 year old bracket ... Ranked #6 in Portugal and #52 in Europe among 16 and under.

Personal: Son of Joaquim and Maria Cardoso ... Majoring in business with a concetration in management.

Coach Breen on Cardoso: “David definitely can be described as having talent. He has very soft hands and seems to make the game look so easy. David has excellent volleys and touch around the net. He has good instinct for the game and knows how to build points well. As a freshman, David still has time for his game to grow and I expect him to play high in the line-up this Spring.”
