Biography
2014-15: In his senior season at Longwood, Carter has led the Lancers in every tournament and averaged 72.14 in 22 rounds of play. The Bassett native claimed his first medalist honors at the Cornell Invitational on Sept. 20-21, shooting 73-70-75 to finish 5-over-par at 218. Carter has also finished in the top-15 five times this season with three top-10 finishes.
Career Highlights:
• Five top-10 finishes including his victory at the Cornell Invitational in 2014.
• Career-low round of 66 at the 2013 Old Dominion Outer Banks Intercollegiate.
• Career scoring average of 75.5 over the course of 98 rounds at Longwood.
• Shot 210 at the 2013 Donald Ross Intercollegiate for his collegiate-best 72-hole score
Junior/Amateur:
• Posted a 148 to qualify for the Virginia Amateur
• Semifinalist at the 2011 VSGA Junior Match Play Championship
• Medaled at the 2010 Virginia Junior Qualifier with a 72
• Runner-up at the 2010 Henry County Junior (70-69-73-76--288)
• Tied for sixth at the 2010 Virginia Junior Match-Play (71-73--144, advancing to match-play)
• Tied for seventh at the 2010 George Holliday Junior (74-72-72--218)
• Tied for 12th at the 2010 Virginia Junior (74-77-66--217)
Personal: Blake is the son of Terry and Helen Carter. His father played football and golf at the University of Richmond. Older sister Kameron graduated from and played golf at Longwood, younger sister Haley currently plays golf for the Lancers. Blake is majoring in political science.
