High School: Three-sport athlete at Matoaca High School … lettered twice in cross country, five times in indoor and outdoor track and field and twice in soccer … played all three sports during his junior and senior years … served as captain of the cross country team as a senior and was named MVP that same year … led Matoaca to back-to-back undefeated seasons and a district championship … a two-time all-district all-academic selection in cross country … three-time all-district performer in track  … ran the 2-mile, 1000m (indoor) and the 4x800m relay ... his high school’s record holder in the two-mile … also set Marymount cross country and William & Mary cross country course records for his high school squad … as a senior on the soccer team,  scored three goals and recorded three assists.
 
Personal: Born Leon Lamont Beard on Feb. 19, 1996 … the son of Sheila and Leon, Sr. … plans to major in business with a concentration in marketing … volunteered with food distribution to the less fortunate with his church in high school.
