Men's Soccer Returns Home to Host Navy on Tuesday

FARMVILLE, Va. - Following a three-match road swing, Longwood men's soccer returns home and welcomes Navy to the Longwood Athletic Complex on Tuesday. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m., and the match will be streamed on ESPN+

Lancer News and Notes 
 
- The Lancers suffered their first loss of the season at James Madison, 2-0 on Friday, Sept. 11. The Dukes scored twice in a six-minute span in the opening half to snap Longwood's five-match win streak to open the year. The Lancers' 5-0 start was just the fourth in school history and the first in the program's Division I history.  
 
- This season, Longwood is 2-0 and averaging 4.5 goals per game at home.  

- The all-time series between the Lancers and Midshipmen has been a close one with Navy holding a slim 7-6-1 advantage. It marks the sixth-straight season that the programs have met. Last season, they drew 2-2 in Annapolis. Longwood won the two meeting prior to that, including a 2-1 win at home in 2024 that featured a Aristhid Kamdjin game-winner. 
   
- Longwood features one of the most potent offenses in the country. The Lancers rank third nationally in scoring offense at 3.5 goals per game, while coming in second in assists per game (3.83) and fourth in points per game (10.83).  
  
- On Sept. 1, Longwood received a vote in the United Soccer Coaches National Top 25. It marked the first time in program history that the Lancers received a vote in the national poll.   
  
- Freshman Levon Saribekyan was named the Big South Freshman of the Week on Sept. 7 after netting a second-half hat trick in the Lancers' 4-3 win at ETSU. It marked the third-straight week a Lancer was honored by the league after sophomore Youssef Shafei (Aug. 24) and junior Brando Bedolla (Aug. 31) earned Big South Offensive Player of the Week honors the first two weeks.   
  
- Bedolla, who missed the Lancers match at JMU, has been one of the top playmakers in the country. He leads the nation in assists per game at 1.4 per contest, while ranking second nationally in points per game (3.0). Bedolla has totaled 15 points on four goals and seven assists this season. His seven assists rank second on the program's Division I record list.  
  
- Junior Joshwa Campbell leads Longwood in goals with five on the year. Two of his five goals have been game-winners, which leads the Big South and ranks eighth nationally. He is 12th in the country in goals per game (0.83).
