LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Longwood men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Liberty in non-conference action on Friday.
The Flames (3-3) took the doubles point as Rodrigo Santiago Arraez and Guy Vorwerk beat Petter Lindquist and Rufus Plane, 6-4 on court three and Benjamin Sparks and David Ekpenyong topped Alejandro Uribe and Daniel Lopez, 7-6 (6), on court two.
Siwanat Auytayakul made it 2-0 with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Plane in No. 2 singles. Sparks followed with a 6-4, 6-1 win against Lopez at No. 4 and Chase Robinson clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-2 victory versus Uribe at No. 5.
Down, 6-0, in the dual, Lindquist picked up the Lancers point with a 2-6, 7-6 (5), 10-7 win over Vorwerk.
Longwood fell to 0-2 on the season wit the loss and are back in action at William & Mary on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
