- Tuesday's match will be the Lancers first of two this week. Longwood returns home to welcome Gardner-Webb to Farmville for an important Big South match-up on Saturday.
- Longwood and Virginia Tech meet for the second-straight season, and the Hokies lead the all-time series at 9-4-2. The Lancers and VT have one common opponent this season in ETSU. Longwood topped the Bucs, 4-3, in Johnson City, Tenn., while the Hokies suffered a 3-1 home loss to ETSU.
- Graduate student goalkeeper Nicolas Pucci was named the Big South Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 28. He collected three of his four saves in the opening half on the way to posting a shutout win over USC Upstate on Sept. 26. Pucci, who recorded a season-high eight saves at UNC Asheville in the Big South Opener on Sept. 19, ranks fifth in the league in saves per game (3.56).
- It was the fourth weekly award of the season for the Lancers. Sophomore Youssef Shafei (Aug. 24) and
Brando Bedolla (Aug. 31) earned Big South Offensive Player of the Week honors each of the first two weeks. Freshman
Levon Saribekyan was named the league's freshman of the week on Sept. 7 after tallying a hat trick at ETSU.
- Junior Joshwa Campbell was called up to the Cayman Islands National Team ahead of the CONCACAF Nations League last week. Campbell started all four games during the International window for the Cayman Islands in Group A against Dominica, Guyana, and twice vs. Puerto Rico.
- Campbell, Bedolla, and Saribekyan were among seven forwards selected to the Big South Conference Midseason Watch List on Sept. 17. In total, 27 student-athletes were honored. Bedolla was also named to the preseason list.
- The Lancers remain one of the top offenses in the country. Longwood ranks 11th nationally assists per game (2.6) and 14th in both scoring (2.30) and points per game (7.2). The Lancers are second in the Big South in all three categories as well.
- Bedolla is one of the top playmakers in the country. He leads the nation in total assists (9) and assists per game (1.13), while ranking third in points per game (2.13) and 13th in total points (17). He has four multiple assists games this season and scored a goal in each of Longwood's first four games. He was named the Big South Offensive Player of the Week on Aug. 31 after totaling a goal and three assists in a win over Coastal Carolina and the game-winner in the victory over Southern Virginia.
- Campbell and Saribekyan lead Longwood with five goals apiece. Both rank among the Big South leaders in points and goals. Campbell is fourth in goals per game and fifth in points per game, while Saribekyan is sixth in both categories. Campbell also ranks second in the Big South with two game-winning goals.
- Longwood jumped out to its best Division I start in school history at 5-0 and along the way earned its first vote in program history in the United Soccer Coaches National Top 25 this season.
