FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood women's soccer bullied its way to a 1-0 lead at the half, but Richmond scored with three minutes left to earn a 1-1 draw on Thursday at the Longwood Athletics Complex.
Before the match, the Lancers honored their six seniors for senior night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
It was all Lancers in the first half. The team created multiple opportunities with seven shots.
Seven different players had a shot, and Longwood hunted around the box relentlessly.
Meanwhile, defenders
Sydney Robertson,
Berni Wayland,
Sarah Olson and
Taylor Kamalsky did not allow any shots from the Spiders in the first half.
In the 34
th minute, Piazza finished off a nice 1-2-3 sequence from
Sam Fischer and
Madison Fitzpatrick for a 1-0 lead.
After the half, Richmond was able to equalize in the 88
th minute with a header from Wilson, assisted by Julia Lishia, to end the match with a 1-1 tie.
WHAT THEY SAID
"That definitely feels like one we let get away", said Head Coach
Todd Dyer. "After a strong first-half performance and a goal lead, we just stopped doing the things that were working for us on both sides of the ball. That's on us, especially me, so we need to correct it going into conference play."
