FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood women's golf incoming freshman Avery Nordman claimed the 2025 Ontario Women's Match Play Championship this week at the Cataraqui Golf & Country Club.
Nordman, who was signed by Longwood Head Coach
Megan Weaver, entered as the eighth seed in the 16-player field before marching to the win.
She won 2&1 in the final, winning over Kelly Zhao to clinch the title. That came on the heels of a narrow 2 up semifinal win over Sadie Wu that saw the result go down to the final hole.
Nordman opened the tournament with a 2&1 win over Natasha Kroman and advanced to the semifinals with a strong 4&3 win over Andrea Lai.
The Canadian native will join a Lancer side that has two returners and four newcomers under Weaver, including All-Big South Second Team selection
Abigail Sheldon.
