FARMVILLE, Va. – Peyton Curney once again scored a game winner for Longwood women's soccer, and the young forward was named the Big South Conference Freshman of the Week on Monday afternoon.

For Curney, it marks her second time earning weekly honors this season.

She tallied the game winner at VMI for Longwood in a 2-1 road win on Thursday, September 14. In the 49
th minute, she tracked down a bouncing ball from
Amanda Arnone and sent it into the back of the net. Both goals in the match were scored by Lancer freshman, with
Coryn Silberstein scoring the tying goal.
On the season, Curney has two goals, and both have been game winners.

Curney is the team leader in goals on the young season, and she is one of three goal scorers who are underclassmen.

The Lancers wrapped up non-conference play over the weekend, and the team dives into conference play this weekend.

Longwood hosts Charleston Southern on Saturday, September 23. Kick-off is set for 1 p.m., and the match will be aired on ESPN+.
