WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Longwood women's golf battled the elements to card a solid opening round at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate on Monday.
Grace Huffman and
Annabelle Jennings carded matching 75s to lead the way, and the Lancers were second out of 19 teams after 18 holes. The second round was suspended due to darkness after round one was delayed due to water puddling on the greens.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
After rain in the morning caused the day to start with a delay, the Lancers put together a solid opening round.
Grace Huffman and
Annabelle Jennings each mastered the elements enough to post a 75. Jennings was incredibly consistent, with 15 pars in her 18 holes. Meanwhile, Huffman had a pair of birdies to go with her 11 pars.
Choi also was consistent and notched a birdie to go with 12 pars to finish one shot behind Huffman and Jennings.
Landis had a pair of birdies to fire a 79, and Schaffer had a team-best three birdies.
Play was suspended due to darkness as golfers were in the midst of round two.
