FARMVILLE, Va. – In their final game of the season, the Longwood women's tennis team scored a 4-0 victory over North Carolina Central University.
 
Doubles
Sophomore 
Nina Hederich and junior 
Maria Saez handily defeated senior Hannah Gaines and freshman Isabelle Exsted 6-0 in no.2 doubles. No.3 doubles gave sophomore 
Zoe Barton and freshman 
Wiktoria Czerny a win by default, and the pair of senior 
Emma Nurgazieva and freshman 
Karina Rizvanova were up 3-2 against NCCU's Kennedy Hill and Jade Houston when Longwood clinched the doubles point.
 
Singles
Czerny took out Gaines in No. 4 singles by matching 6-1 scores, and Hederich clinched the number five singles slot against Jones 6-0, 6-1. With Barton winning by default at No. 6 singles, Longwood clinched the match. The top three singles matches all were unfinished when Longwood clinched the match. Nurgazieva was up 2-1 in the second set after Houston took the first set 6-4 at No. 1 singles. Rizvanova won her opening set 7-5 at No. 2 against Hill. NCCU's Exsted took the opening set against Saez 6-3 before Saez led the second set 1-0 at No. 3 singles when Longwood clinched.
 
Season in Review
The win over N.C. Central concludes the regular season for Longwood, with the team going 8-13 in head coach 
Adam Jackson's debut with the team. The Lancers swept six matches this season, including a pair of matches over conference foes N.C. A&T and Hampton. Six of the team's eight players are underclassmen, with Nurgazieva the lone senior on the roster.
