FARMVILLE, Va. – The Longwood women's tennis team prevailed 7-0 over Southern Virginia University. This marks their second 7-0 win in a row following the team's Big South match against North Carolina A&T State University.
Doubles
Longwood (7-8) Freshman
Karina Rizvanova and senior
Emma Nurgazieva fell to freshmen Paula Snelson and Campbell Bueler 6-3 in No.1 doubles. In No.2 and No.3 doubles the pairs of junior
Maria Saez and sophomore
Nina Hederich as well as freshman
Wiktoria Czerny and sophomore
Zoe Barton won 6-0 and 6-1 against Knights freshmen Jillian Arnold and Nadia Molanphy as well as freshman Annalise Schetsselaar and senior Alyssa Sewell to clinch the doubles point for the Lancers.
Singles
Both Saez and Czerny triumphed 6-0 in straight sets against Bueler and Arnold in No.3 and No.4 singles respectively. In No.2, No.5, and No.6 singles Risvanova, Hederich, and sophomore
Alexandra Hincu all scored straight set victories against Schetsselaar, Sewell, and Molanphy, respectively. Nurgazieva outplayed Snelson in a real battle in No.1 singles that went to 3-6, 7-5, 11-9.
