HOW IT HAPPENED

Longwood again came out in the first half firing on all cylinders. Ethan Stevenson had the first shot of the match in the eighth minute, which was saved by PC keeper, Leo Stritter. The Lancers went on to record six shots in the first half, three of which were on frame, to the Blue Hose's lone shot that was in the 24th minute.

Presbyterian recorded the first shot of the second half just past the 49th minute marker through Gallego who broke the deadlock and give the Blue Hose the lead. Longwood continued to attack for the remainder of the game; having recorded seven shots in the second half. Three of those seven shots came in the final 10 minutes as Longwood pushed for an equalizer.

WHAT THEY SAID:

"I can't recall a season quite like this where we had so much control in games and lost," said head coach Jon Atkinson after the game. "We look clean and tidy on the ball, we get into the final third so consistently and come up short so many times. Frustrating is an understatement, however we are confident and gain some solace knowing our model has merit. We ultimately need to be ruthless in the final third as a team."

"Overall I felt our guys did incredibly well for the majority of this game," further added Atkinson. "Dictating tempo and defending with great discipline. We fell to a long throw and not winning the first or second ball. It's criminal but we can't feel sorry for ourselves, we have to own it, learn and move on. We have to reinstate some pride and respectability into the season over the remaining fixture and believe the next result will be ours."

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Longwood out-shot the Blue Hose 13-8 in total shots. They also out-shot PC 7-2 in shots on goal.
The Lancers had four corners to the Blue Hose's three.
Stevenson led the team in shots with three, two of his shots were on frame.
With 49 minutes played today, Jonas Kalchner has now played the most minutes in a Longwood Uniform in program history
