MORGANTON, N.C. – Emma Landis' pair of 77 scores has her in tenth place, as Longwood women's golf ended the first day of the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate in fifth place on Monday afternoon.
 
Playing two of the three rounds at Mimosa Hills Country Club on Monday, the Lancers posted scores of 315-316—631 (+55). Landis led the team at 77-77—154 (+10), as she was one of just six golfers in the 36 women field to eclipse 80 in each of the opening two rounds.
 
Fellow-freshman Annabelle Jennings followed in T-16th, shooting 79-80—159 (+15) in the second start of her collegiate career. Her opening round 79 tied her career-low mark, which she set in her first appearance for Longwood in the Kingsmill Intercollegiate on March 30.
 
Diana Domenech, who set a career-best finish at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate with fourth, followed with an 80-81—161 (+17) performance on Monday, as she sits in 20th with 18 holes to play. Grace Huffman joins her in the top-25 at 78-86—164 (+20), as her opening-round 78 marked the third-best round by a Lancer behind Landis' first two rounds.
 
Bobbi Uhl bounced back from a slow start, firing a final round 79 to end at 89-79—168 (+24). As a team, Longwood had five rounds lower than 80.
 
Host school Appalachian State sits atop the team leaderboard at 304-312—616 (+40), though the Lancers trail by just 15 strokes. Big South golfer Allison Chandler, out of Gardner-Webb, sits in first after ending her day with a 72 to sit at 79-72—151 (+7).
 
Round three of the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate is set for Tuesday, March 6 as Longwood looks to climb the leaderboard in their final 18 holes.
