ROCK HILL, S.C.
– Freshman Emma Landis fired a final round 74, surging up 19 spots to lead Longwood with a T-13th  finish to close the 2021 Eagle Invitational at Rock Hill Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.

A freshman appearing in just her second collegiate event, her career-best score of 74 (+2) ranked as the third-best score of the day, as players averaged scores of 82.13 in round two, and 82.12 throughout the two-day event.

As a team, Longwood finished sixth at 333-322—655 (+79), as their second round score of 322 marked the fourth lowest in the field. Landis had an 11-stroke improvement of her own, posting scores of 85-74—159 (+15) which served as the highest round-to-round improvement in the field.

Landis navigated the challenging course with consistency, ripping off 11-consecutive holes of par or better highlighted by a one-under 35 on the front nine. The Virginia Beach, Va. native racked up 13 pars and two birdies, while posting just one hole above bogey. After recording a five on the par-three 12th, Landis responded with a birdie on the following hole before ending her round with a par and score of 74 (+2).

Joining her in the top-20 were Bobbi Uhl and Diana Domenech, who both shot 81's for the second-consecutive day, each ending with cards of 81-81—162 (+18) to end T-20th in the 47 golfer field. Domenech picked up three more birdies on Tuesday, as the Richmond, Va. native ranked third in the field with six total and leads Longwood with 13 birdies through five rounds in 2021.

Uhl led the team with 19 pars, recording nine more on Tuesday including six-consecutive on holes 1-6, her second-straight day accomplishing the same feat. The Manitoba, Canada native, who ranked 10th in the field in total pars, also dropped in two birdies in her final round.

Jacky Nickels and Grace Huffman both posted final round scores of 86, finishing 39th and 40th respectively while each picking up a birdie apiece. Huffman's front-nine 38 (+2) tied the second lowest mark by a Lancer, and Nickels ended with 15 pars across 36 holes.

USC Upstate took home the team crown, posting scores of 316-300—616 (+40) to overtake an 11-stroke deficit after round one and pass Campbell, who ended at 305-323—628 (+52). Campbell's Anna Nordfors won the individual title by five strokes, finishing with scores of 72-73—145 (+1).
