Longwood Finishes Third in Kingsmill Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Longwood women's golf saved their best for last, firing a 301 (+13) to close out the 2021 Kingsmill Intercollegiate in third place on Tuesday afternoon at Kingsmill Resort.
Diana Domenech ended in sole possession of fourth, while all five Lancers finished in the top-20 in an impressive team-wide performance.

Tuesday's final round served as the second-lowest team score of the day, trailing only first-place Delaware as Longwood extended their lead over fourth-place Radford to 16 strokes. In total, the Lancers posted scores of 316-310-301—927 (+63), their lowest to-par score in 2021 and best finish since coming in second at the 2019 Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate.

Domenech's three-birdie final round led the way for the Lancers, as she posted the Lancers lowest score of 2021 at 72 (E), matching her career-low round. The junior also set a new individual-best finish at fourth, her second top-five finish since ending the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate in fifth place on
April 8, 2019.

A Richmond, Va. native, Domenech ranked second in the field with nine birdies, her second-consecutive event ranking in the top-three in birdies. Her final card of 78-77-72—227 (+11) including rankings of third in par four scoring at 4.20 (+6) and eighth in par three scoring at 3.25 (+3).

Joining Domenech in the top-10 was freshman
Emma Landis, who matched her career-best round of 74 (+2) to end T-7
th for her best career finish and second-consecutive top-15 performance. The Virginia Beach, Va. native matched the team-high with three birdies, posting a card of 78-78-74—230 (+14) to shoot below 80 in three-consecutive rounds for the second time this season. Â

Grace Huffman continued her consistent tournament, finishing a career-best 12
th after firing 78-79-77—234 (+18). Her strong finish included a stretch of three-consecutive birdies, as she finished tied for seventh in the field with five across three rounds.

Bobbi Uhl finished a season-high T-13
th, posting scores of 82-76-78—236 (+20). The junior ranked in the top-16 in both pars (29) and birdies (4), while finishing seventh in par five scoring at 5.00 (E). Making her collegiate debut, freshman
Annabelle Jennings finished in the top-20 with a card of 82-79-80—241 (+25). Jennings was particularly strong on par four holes, averaging 4.30 (+3) to rank fourth in the field.

As a team, the Lancers ranked first in the 12-team field with 28 birdies and fourth with 143 pars. They also ranked in the top-three in par three, four and five scoring, the lone team in the field to do so.

Longwood will have one final tournament prior to the Big South Conference Tournament, as they head to Morganton, N.C. for the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate to start play on Monday, April 5.
