Grace Puleo posted a career-best 5K time of 19:51.2 in the Big South Championship in 2019. The Lancer sophomore sat down to answer some questions in this week's Lancer Spotlight, presented by Hercules Tires.
What is your favorite thing about Longwood?
"The friends that I have made and the connections that I will have after college."
What is your favorite animal?
"The Belgian blue cow-- I just learned about them in class. These cows lack a strand in their DNA so they just continue to build muscles forever and they are huge."
If you could witness any event in history, what would it be?
"I would like to be at the Boston Marathon the year they tried to pull Kathrine Switzer out of the race-- that was a big moment for women in sports."
Who is your biggest role model in the sports world?
"Kyle Guy, a former basketball player at the University of Virginia because he was a really good teammate and was always trying to better himself and his team better."
Any fun facts most people don't know about you?
"I can say the alphabet backwards and can name all fifty states in alphabetical order in less than 30 seconds."
If you were stranded on an island and could only have three items, what would they be?
"A bed because a love a good night sleep, a tooth brush because I hate when my teeth aren't brushed, and a pair of shoes for good protection."
If you could have a fictional character be your friend, who would it be?
"I would like to be friends with Sophie from Mamma Mia because her life is just amazing."
What is on your bucket list?
"I would love to see all seven wonders of the world."
