Janese Quick was never destined for Longwood. In fact, the Orange Park, Fla., native's journey to Farmville began by happenstance, initiated by a chance encounter in her home state with Longwood head coach
Todd Dyer.
However, four years later, Longwood' senior captain and All-Big South first team midfielder has taken Longwood women's soccer to new heights and has the program one win away from reaching the Big South Championship game this weekend in Greensboro, N.C.
As the focus of the Big South's MUSCO Spotlight series, Quick details the fortuitous turn of events that brought her to Longwood, dishes on her appearance on ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays earlier this year and shares how she got into soccer.
