POOLER, Ga. – Longwood University posted a round of 307 Tuesday in men’s golf for a 36-hole total of 609 (302-307) to finish third among 10 teams at the Lonnie Barton Invitational hosted by Long Island University in Pooler, Georgia. Towson University won the event with its 296-301--597 at the 7,016-yard, par 72 Savannah Quarters Country Club. The Lancers will play again March 29-30 at the Lacrosse Homes Intercollegiate in Grasonville, Maryland.
Longwood was led by junior Scooter Buhrman/Fayetteville, N.C. (Jack Britt) with his 77-70--147. Buhrman was followed by freshman Michael Young/Oakville, Ontario (Oakville Trafalgar) (75-77--152), sophomore Adam Webb/Ridgeway (Magna Vista) (74-78--152), senior Brett Chambers/Mount Sydney (Fort Defiance) (76-85--161), along with senior John Rosenstock/Midlothian (Midlothian) (86-82--168). The Lancers entered two individuals: freshman Jed Rasnick/Roanoke (Lord Botetourt) (83-77--160) and sophomore Allain Blanchard/Williamsburg (Jamestown) (88-91--179). Complete individual results and placings were not made available.
