GREENSBORO, N.C.—Longwood University women’s tennis earned a 7-0 win over North Carolina A&T Saturday afternoon in Greensboro.  The Lancers swept all six of the single matches and all three of the double matches.  Longwood will return to action on Sunday, March 11, traveling to Gardner-Webb for a 12:30 p.m. match with the Bulldogs.

In singles action Elena Triebskorn/Heddesheim, Germany (Carl-Benz-Gymnasium) defeated North Carolina’s Christina Ruffin in two sets posting game scores 6-2, 6-1 in the number one spot.  Ashley Melson/Virginia Beach (Kellam) battled the Aggies’ Jaymee Jones to a three set winning, overcoming a 6-3 loss in game one to take the next two sets 6-2 and 16-14 for the win. Lexi Torrice/Richmond (Douglas Freeman), Brittany Huddleston/Roanoke (Cave Spring), and Mason Davis/Richmond (Collegiate School) each won their respective matches 6-0, 6-1 while Alicia Raymond/Rocking Baths (Godwin) got a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Morgan Robinson to preserve the sweep in singles.

Longwood continued to roll in doubles action as the Lancers’ teams of Davis/Triebskorn, Bucur/Torrice and Melson/Raymond defeated North Carolina’s teams 8-1 in each match to earn the 7-0 win.
