EARLYSVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University competed at the Cavalier Open women’s cross country race hosted by the University of Virginia Saturday in Earlysville. Dawn Cromer won the 5K race at the Panorama Farms in 18:05 as no team scoring was recorded at the event. The Lancers will compete again next Saturday, November 10, at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional hosted by Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Longwood was led by freshman Natalie Auble/Fairfax (Fairfax) with her time of 21:08 to finish 33rd among 44 runners. Auble was followed by sophomore Melinda Lackore/Virginia Beach (First Colonial) (22:10, 38th), and freshmen Paula Roberson/Fairfax (Chantilly) (22:34, 39th), Lauren Kuhns/Fredericksburg (Riverbend) (23:15, 40th), and Jamie Upshaw/Bowling Green (Lee-Davis) (24:39, 42nd).
