TOP 20 TEAM & INDIVIDUAL RESULTS (PDF)
GOOSE CREEK, S.C. – Longwood University shot a final round of 310 Tuesday in men’s golf for 54-hole total of 901 (301-290-310) to finish second among 12 teams at the Charleston Southern Fall Invitational in South Carolina. Radford University won the event with its 293-295–298--886 at the 6,978-yard, par 72 Crowfield Country Club in Goose Creek near Charleston, while the University of South Carolina’s Patrick Rada took individual medalist honors with his 68-70-74--212.
Longwood was led by freshman Michael Young/Oakville, Ontario (Oakville Trafalgar) with his 77-72-75--224 to finish in an 11th-place tie among 71 golfers. Young was followed by sophomore Adam Webb/Ridgeway (Magna Vista) (74-74-78--226, t-19th), senior John Rosenstock/Midlothian (Midlothian) (77-70-81--228), junior Scooter Buhrman/Fayetteville, N.C. (Jack Britt) (73-77-80--230), along with senior Brett Chambers/Mount Sydney (Fort Defiance) (80-74-77--231). Complete individual results were not available at press time.
Longwood completed the fall portion of its schedule with the runner-up finish and will return to action next spring. The Lancers of 11th-year head coach Kevin Fillman averaged 297.00 through five tournaments and 15 rounds this fall.
