AMHERST, Va. – Longwood University shot a third-round of 299 Tuesday in men’s golf for a 54-hole total of 901 (303-299-299) to finish sixth among 11 teams at the Frank Landrey Invitational hosted by Liberty University. Radford University won the event with its 290-287-283--860 at the 7,059-yard, par 72 Poplar Grove Golf Club in Amherst, while Vincent Nadeau of VCU was the individual medalist with his 10-under par 69-71-66--206. Longwood will play again next week, October 22-23, at the Charleston Southern Invitational in Goose Creek, South Carolina.

Longwood was led by junior Scooter Buhrman/Fayetteville, N.C. (Jack Britt) with his one-under par 70-74-71--215 to finish fourth among 66 collegiate golfers. Buhrman was followed by senior John Rosenstock/Midlothian (Midlothian) (77-76-73--226, t-25th), sophomore Allain Blanchard/Williamsburg (Jamestown) (78-76-76--230, t-36th), along with freshmen Michael Young/Oakville, Ontario (Oakville Trafalgar) (78-73-80--231, t-39th) and Jed Rasnick/Roanoke (Lord Botetourt) (83-78-79--240, 56th). Buhrman posted his collegiate career-best for 54 holes (215), and earned his first top five individual finish this year while finishing second among the field in par 4 scoring (3.90, -3) and fourth in birdies (14). Young finished 11th in pars (34).
