Longwood took control again at 53:15 when sophomore Aynsley Birkner/Virginia Beach (First Colonial) scored on a corner-kick opportunity, assisted by junior Tiffany Crane/Virginia Beach (Kellam). The Lancers increased their margin at 76:45 when Lynn scored her first collegiate goal and the eventual game-winner, unassisted, on a breakaway that she deposited into the near-post net. Radford did manage to trim the deficit to 3-2 on a late goal from Lisa Channon at 80:36, assisted on a cross to the middle from McKenzie Vergara.
Longwood and Radford each took nine shots, though the Lancers had a 6-4 advantage in corner-kicks. Junior keeper Heather Storrie/Spring Grove, Pa. (Spring Grove) played the entire contest in front of the net, allowing the two goals with two saves for the Lancers.
