LYNCHBURG, Va. – Longwood University took a 4-3 women’s tennis victory at Liberty University Wednesday in Lynchburg. The Lancers improved their record to 7-7 with their fourth consecutive win. Longwood will play again this Saturday, April 9, hosting James Madison University of the Colonial Athletic Association beginning at 1 p.m. at the Lancer Courts in Farmville.
At Liberty of the Big South Conference, Longwood took the doubles team point with two of three wins and secured the road triumph with three wins in singles. In doubles, freshmen Elena Triebskorn/Heddesheim, Germany (Carl-Benz) and Brittany Huddleston/Roanoke (Cave Spring) won at #2 (8-3), as did sophomores Lexi Torrice/Richmond (Douglas Freeman) and Nancy Hott/Fairfax (W.T. Woodson) at #3 (8-3).
In singles, Triebskorn won at #2 (6-3, 6-3), Torrice won at #4 (7-5, 6-0), and junior Jessica Farr/Williamsburg (Lafayette) won at #6 (6-0, 6-0).
