Men's Tennis Falls To Visiting Elon 6-1

Junior Tobia Guennel Involved In Win At #2 Doubles Against Phoenix

March 4, 2005

FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University dropped a 6-1 men’s tennis decision to visiting Elon University Friday at the Lancer Courts in Farmville.  The Lancers are now 0-4 this season and will play again Saturday, March 5, at Gardner-Webb beginning at 3 p.m. in North Carolina.

Against Elon, Longwood garnered a win in singles from freshman Ross McBee/Stafford (Colonial Forge) at #6 (7-6, 1-6, 7-6), and in doubles from junior Tobias Guennel/Plauen, Germany (Albert Einstein-Gymnasium) and freshman Mani Barajas-Alexander/Arlington (Bishop O'Connell) at #2 (8-4).  The doubles win does not count toward the team scoring as a team must win two of three doubles matches for the one team point.
