Men's Tennis Falls To Stony Brook 6-1

Sophomore Rashko Patnikov Wins At #2 Doubles Against Stony Brook

FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University dropped a 6-1 men’s tennis decision to visiting Stony Brook University Tuesday at the Lancer Courts. The Lancers are now 0-9 this season, while the Seawolves improved to 4-4. Longwood will play again Thursday, March 24, against Morgan State at 2 p.m. in Virginia Beach at the Hampton Roads Elite 8 Collegiate Tournament.

Against Stony Brook, Longwood garnered its team point by winning two of the three doubles matches. Sophomore Rashko Patnikov/Bankya, Bulgaria (Smirnenski) and junior Ian Young/Bowie, Md. (Eleanor Roosevelt) won at #2 (8-3), along with senior Chris Newman/Chesapeake (Hickory) and freshman Ross McBee/Stafford (Colonial Forge) at #3 (8-6).
