GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Longwood University took a 5-2 women’s tennis victory at North Carolina A&T Saturday in Greensboro. The Lancers are now 3-5 this season and will not play again until after spring break on March 22, hosting Stony Brook at 2 p.m. at the Lancer Courts in Farmville.
At N.C. A&T, Longwood garnered wins in singles from sophomore Romana Bucur/Brasov, Romania (Joan Mesota) at #1 (6-1, 6-2), freshman Elena Triebskorn/Heddesheim, Germany (Carl-Benz-Gymnasium) at #2 (6-0, 6-0), along with sophomores Lexi Torrice/Richmond (Douglas Freeman) at #4 (6-1, 6-0) and Nancy Hott/Fairfax (W.T. Woodson) at #6 (6-1, 7-6). In doubles, Bucur and Triebskorn won at #1 (8-0), as did Torrice and sophomore Brittany Huddleston/Roanoke (Cave Spring) at #2 (8-3).
