FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University swept a collegiate baseball doubleheader from visiting Seton Hill (Pa.) In the opener, Longwood broke open a 5-5 tie with a run in the 6th inning, and added two insurance runs in the 7th en route to the victory.  Freshman Tyler Childress/Montclair (Forest Park) (0-2, RBI) hit a sacrifice fly to score the decisive run in the 6th inning.  Freshmen Charlie Yarbrough/Richmond (Mills Godwin) (3-3, 2 RBI) and Tyler Ames/Exmore (Northampton) (3-4, 2 RBI) each collected three hits and two RBI in the contest to lead the Lancers.  Senior Brian Medley/Halifax (Halifax Co.) (2-4, 2 RBI) and freshman Hunter Williams/Richmond (Varina) (2-3, RBI) each added two hits to the effort, including a two-run home run by Medley in the 4th inning -- his team-leading fifth homer this season.  Freshman Zach Zigrang/Virginia Beach (Kempsville) (3-0) got the pitching win in relief with 2.0 shutout innings, yielding two hits with two strikeouts.  Classmate Alan Moore/Richmond (Monacan) (1) earned his first collegiate save, striking-out the only batter he faced in the 7th inning.

In the nightcap, Longwood led 4-0 through six innings before Seton Hill scored four runs in the 7th inning to tie the game.  The Lancers scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the final 7th inning with two-outs when Medley (2-4, RBI) hit a grounder up the middle off the second baseman’s glove for an RBI single.  Ames (2-3) added two hits along with Medley, while Yarbrough (1-2, 2 RBI) hit a two-run home run in the 6th inning -- his third homer this spring.  Junior Darin Knicely/Elkton (Spotswood) (1-0) picked-up the pitching win in relief with the final two-thirds of an inning, striking-out two of three batters he faced.  Sophomore John Hines/Smithfield (Smithfield) went the first 6.1 innings on the mound, scattering seven hits and four earned runs with five strikeouts.
