HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Longwood University took a 9-0 women’s collegiate tennis victory at Bridgewater College Sunday. The Lancers record is now 5-3 and the team will play again March 26-28 in Wilson, North Carolina at the North-South Duels.
At NCAA Division III Bridgewater, Longwood won all singles and doubles matches. In singles, senior Danielle Hess/Bel Air, Md. (Bel Air) won at #1, as did senior Cecilia Robinson/Lynchburg (Brookville) at #2, freshman Jenn Edwards/Newport News (Hampton Roads Academy) at #3, seniors Laura Whitehurst/Chesapeake (Western Branch) at #4 and Amber Miller/Virginia Beach (First Colonial) at #5, along with freshman Nancy Hott/Fairfax (W.T. Woodson) at #6. In doubles, Hess and freshman Lexi Torrice/Richmond (Douglas Freeman) won at #1, as did Miller and Whitehurst at #2, along with Hott and Robinson at #3.
