FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University dropped a 5-4 men’s collegiate tennis decision to visiting Augusta State University Saturday at the Lancer Courts. The Lancers are now 0-1 and will host Mary Washington College on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 3 p.m. in Farmville.
Longwood won three singles and one doubles match. In singles, freshman Rashko Patnikov/Bankya, Bulgaria (Smirnenski) won at #1 (6-4, 6-4), as did sophomore Diego Quiros/Quesada, Costa Rica (Maria Inmaculada) at #4 (1-6, 1-1, default) and sophomore Justin Dorsk/Virginia Beach (Kempsville) at #6 4-6, 6-2, 6-1). In doubles, Quiros and junior Chris Newman/Chesapeake (Hickory) won at #1 (8-6).
