Question and Answer Session with Jaclyn Reagan and Bethany Drury

BD: Why did you choose to play basketball?
JR: It was just something that my dad and I had in common. We spent a lot of time together [playing basketball] and it just stuck.

BD: Why did you choose to come to Longwood?
JR: When I came on my visit, I really liked the campus, the coaches seemed really down to earth at the time and it wasn’t too big of a gym, so it wasn’t overwhelming.

BD: Do you have any teammates that you admire or look up to?
JR: Chelsea [Coward] because she’ll tell you to do something, but she also leads by example at the same time. She practices what she preaches.

BD: What is it like seeing significant playing time as a freshman?
JR: I’m kind of shocked because most freshman don’t see a lot of playing time so I guess it’s more of a shock but it’s good because I feel like next year it’s going to help us out because the freshman won’t be as nervous to play?

BD: How do you feel about the team’s performance so far?
JR: We were ranked last [in the preseason] and we worked our way all the way up to first. Now we’re kind of struggling, but I feel like there is a really good possibility that we could win the conference tournament.

BD: What is your favorite thing about Longwood basketball?
JR: Knowing that even if I don’t have anybody else, my teammates are going to be there for me. It’s like a second family.

BD: At the Coastal Carolina game, you scored a career-high nine points. Talk about that game.
JR: Well I’m here to shoot, so I felt like I was just doing my job. I was just doing more of it than usual.

BD: What is your favorite Longwood tradition?
JR: Oktoberfest

BD: Do you have any role models?
JR: My mom because she’s an independent person. She’s never depended on anyone but herself and she takes care of my brother and I by herself.

BD: Who is your favorite athlete?
JR:  Ray Allen

BD: What is your favorite team?
JR: The Celtics

BD: What is your favorite food?
JR: Anything Italian

BD: What is your favorite movie?
JR: Coach Carter

BD: What is your favorite song?
JR: Dance for you by Beyonce

BD: Any interesting facts about yourself?
JR: I have 10 cats

BD: Do you have any other interests or activities?
JR: Volleyball and I like running. I like to sing too.
