Women's basketball freshman Kemari Jones averaged near a double-double for the week with 9.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. For the week, she was Longwood’s second leading scorer while shooting .444 (8-of-18) from the floor and adding three blocks and a steal in 25.5 minutes per game.
In Longwood’s win at Winthrop Saturday, Jones finished with 11 boards and nine points, while blocking a pair of shots and coming up with a steal. In addition, she helped seal the win for the Lancers by hitting a key free throw down the stretch inside the final 30 seconds of play.
Jones started her week by finishing with 10 points and nine boards in Longwood’s loss to Charleston Southern. In that game, Jones finished 4-of-8 (.500) from the field, while adding a block and a steal.
