CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Longwood guard Jesstynie Scott has been named Big South Freshman of the Week in women's basketball for a third time, the league announced Monday.

Scott averaged 8.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 steal per game as the Lancers went 2-0 in the Puerto Rico Clasico with wins over Buffalo and 2025 Southland Conference champion Stephen F. Austin on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.

The Americus, Ga., product tallied 11 points, three rebounds and two steals against the Bulls and shot 7-for-13 (53.8 percent) from the field for the week.

Scott also claimed the weekly honor as the league's top freshman on Nov. 10 and 17.

Through nine games this season, Scott is averaging 8.7, 3.3 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game off the bench.

Longwood (6-3) is back in action Wednesday host Troy in an 11 a.m., tip at the Joan Perry Brock Center. The game will benefit Christmas Mother. A donation of toys, clothes, books, or other items is good for one free ticket and will be distributed to children under 18.
