Marta Pinyol/Barcelona, Spain has been named this week's Big South Conference Choice Hotels Women's Tennis Player of the Week. She helped the Lancers to a 6-1 Big South win against Presbyterian on April 13 by winning at No. 1 singles, defeating PC's Greer Ransom, 6-2, 7-5. Allison Shulman won at No. 1, 8-2. She is Longwood's first conference player of the week in the sport. Pinyol is third on the team in singles wins with her 10-13 overall record, and she has compiled an overall doubles record of 7-16. Longwood is competing in this week's Big South Women's Tennis Championship at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
