FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood University dropped a 1-0 men's soccer exhibition to visiting Loyola University on Saturday afternoon at the Athletics Complex in Farmville. Loyola scored the only goal of the match on a breakaway by Sam Bradley who beat the goalkeeper outside the penalty box and took another dribble before sending the ball into the far corner. Longwood will open its 2010 regular season on Wednesday, September 1, when they travel to Richmond to take on the University of Richmond of the Atlantic-10 Conference at 6 p.m.. The Lancers play their first home match on Saturday, September 4, when they host Liberty University of the Big South Conference at 7 p.m. at the Athletics Complex in Farmville. Admission is free.
