POOLER, Ga. – Longwood University shot a final round of 302 Tuesday in men's golf for a 36-hole score of 621 (319-302) to win the eight-team Lonnie Barton Invitational hosted by Long Island University at the Savannah Quarters Country Club in Pooler, Georgia. The Lancers won the tournament by nine shots over runners-up Laval (Canada) University (630) at the 7,016-yard, par 72 layout. Longwood will compete again March 27-28 at the Fireline Invitational hosted by Towson University in Grasonville, Maryland.

Longwood was led by senior Adam Webb/Ridgeway (Magna Vista) with his 78-76--154 that tied for fourth in the field of 47 golfers. Webb was followed by sophomores Bobby Fox/South Riding (Xavier, Conn) (82-73--155, 6th) and Ross Sumner/Callao, Va. (Northumberland) (79-77--156, 7th), junior Michael Young/Oakville, Ontario (Trafalgar) (81-76--157, t-8th), and sophomore Austin Gray/Midlothian (Monacan) (81-79--160, t-14th).

Also competing as individuals were sophomore Kenny Leech/Boca Raton, Fla. (Grandview Prep) (83-83--166, t-28th) and junior Jed Rasnick/Roanoke (Lord Botetourt) (83-93--176, 39th).
