BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Longwood University women's tennis team defeated Lees-McRae College 7-0 on Saturday in Banner Elk, North Carolina. The Lancers won the doubles point and swept all six singles matches. The Lancers (4-3) return to action on Sunday, March 7, when they face UNC Asheville in Asheville, N.C., at 1 p.m.

In singles action, junior Zsofia Jakab/Minusio, Switzerland (Lices Cantonale Locarns) won at #1 (6-0, 4-6, 6-4), freshman Marta Pinyol/Barcelona, Spain (IESM Ferran Tallada) was victorious at #2 (6-3, 6-1), senior Mason Davis/Richmond (Collegiate School) won at #3 (6-1, 6-3), freshman Allison Shulman/Richmond (Deep Run) claimed victory at #4 (6-1, 6-3) and freshman Hannah Hill/Portsmouth (Western Branch) won at #5 (8-4). Junior Nasim Moadab/Colonial Heights (Colonial Heights) won by default at #6.

In doubles competition, Jakab and senior Laura Simon/Barcelona, Spain (IES Lluis de Peguera) won at #1 (8-2) and Davis and Shulman were victorious at #2 (8-6).
