GRASONVILLE, Md. – Longwood University shot a 54-hole score of 310-299-303--912 Saturday and Sunday in men's golf to finish sixth among 19 teams at the Fireline Invitational hosted by Towson University at the Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville, Maryland. UNC Greensboro won the event with its 291-287-288--866 at the 6,761-yard, par 72 layout, while Mackenzie Hughes of Kent State University took individual medalist honors with his 73-74-66--213. Longwood will play again next weekend, April 2-3, at the River Landing Intercollegiate hosted by East Carolina University in Wallace, North Carolina.

Longwood was led by senior Adam Webb/Ridgeway (Magna Vista) with his 71-75-77--223 that tied for 14th in the field of 100 golfers. Webb was followed by sophomore Bobby Fox/South Riding (Xavier, Conn) (76-76-76--228, t-25th), junior Michael Young/Oakville, Ontario (Trafalgar) (80-76-75--231, t-42nd), along with sophomores Austin Gray/Midlothian (Monacan) (85-72-75--232, t-47th) and Ross Sumner/Callao, Va. (Northumberland) (83-76-78--237, t-62nd).
