FARMVILLE, Va. - The Longwood University women's tennis team fell to Stony Brook University 5-2 on Monday afternoon in Farmville. The Lancers fell to 3-8 while the Seawolves improved to 8-2. Longwood returns to action on Friday, April 10, traveling to Buies Creek, North Carolina to face Campbell University at 2 p.m.

The Lancers claimed the first two singles' flights with junior Laura Simon/Barcelona, Spain (IES Lluis de Peguera) winning at #1 (6-1, 6-4) and sophomore Zsofia Jakab/Minusio, Switzerland (Lices Cantonale Locarns) winning at #2 (7-5, 7-5). In other singles action, freshman Jackie Esguerra/Sauk City, Wis. (Prairie du Sac High) lost at #3 (1-6, 2-6), senior Ashley Melson/Virginia Beach (Kellam) fell at #4 (2-6, 1-6), junior Mason Davis/Richmond (Collegiate) lost at #5 (3-6, 2-6) and sophomore Nasim Moadab/Colonial Heights (Colonial Heights) fell at #6 (2-6, 0-6).

Longwood won one doubles match but lost the point. Davis and Melson won at #2 (8-2). Jakab and Simon fell at #1 (8-9 (5)) and Esguerra and Moadab lost at #3 (2-8).
