FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University took a 7-0 men's tennis decision past visiting Winston-Salem State University Sunday afternoon at the Lancer Courts in Farmville.  The Lancers were led by freshman Nobu Tanaka/Potomac, Md. (St. Johns College HS) who earned wins at #4 singles (6-0, 6-0) and at #3 doubles (8-0) along with senior Brandon Lindsley/Woodbridge (Woodbridge).  Longwood will play again on Thursday, February 26, hosting Coastal Carolina University of the Big South Conference at the Lancer Courts in Farmville beginning at 2 p.m..

Longwood swept all six singles matches, and all three doubles matches against W-SSU.  Earning wins for the Lancers in singles, in addition to Tanaka, were senior Carlos Garcia de Andoain/Madrid, Spain (Liceo Sorolla 'C') at #1 (6-0, 6-2), Lindsley at #2 (6-2, 6-1), junior David Cardoso/Porto, Portugal (Externato Lumen) at #3 (6-1, 6-0), junior Billy Heird/York, Pa. (Dallastown) at #5 (6-1, 6-0), and junior Andres Lazarte/Vienna (San Miguel) at #6 (6-3, 6-0).  In doubles, winning besides Tanaka and Lindsley were sophomore Milo Barajas-Alexander/Arlington (Bishop O'Connell) and Heird at #1 (8-2) along with Cardoso and Garcia de Andoain at #2 (8-2).
