KITTY HAWK, N.C. – Longwood University shot a final round of 289 Tuesday in men's golf for a 36-hole score of 593 (304-289) to finish in fifth place among 14 teams at the Seascape Intercollegiate hosted by Old Dominion University at the Seascape Golf Links in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. ODU won its own event with its 298-286--584 at the 6,131-yard, par 70 layout, while the host Monarchs' Eric Onesi took medalist honors with his 69-67--136. The Lancers have now completed the fall portion of their 2009-10 schedule.
Longwood was led by senior
Adam Webb/Ridgeway (Magna Vista) with his 76-70--146 for a ninth-place tie among the 73 collegiate golfers. Webb was followed by junior
Michael Young/Oakville, Ontario (Trafalgar) (75-73--148, t-15th), sophomore
Austin Gray/Midlothian (Monacan) (80-70--150, t-22nd), classmate
Bobby Fox/South Riding (Xavier, Conn) (75-76--151, t-27th), along with junior
Jed Rasnick/Roanoke (Lord Botetourt) (78-85--163, 67th).
Longwood will open its spring schedule on March 1-2 at the Charleston Shootout hosted by the College of Charleston in Hollywood, South Carolina, a 54-hole event to be played at The Links at Stono Ferry.
