CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The Longwood University men's tennis team participated in the Wilson/ITA Championship on Friday, October 17 on the North Carolina Chapel Hill campus. The Lancers had a tough go at the tournament, but fought hard against several Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) programs. Longwood is set to return to the courts for the spring season on January 25, taking on William and Mary in Williamsburg at 5 p.m.

Billy Heird/York, Pa. (Dallastown) fell to Jon Wolff (Wake Forest) in the first round of singles qualifying, losing 2-6, 4-6. Senior
Carlos Garcia de Andoain/Madrid, Spain (Liceo Sorolla 'C') lost his first round singles match in the main draw to David Hospkins of Wake Forest, taking the game to three sets (1-, 6-1, 2-6).

David Cardoso/Porto, Portugal (Externato Lumen) lost in the first round of the main draw to Houston Barrick/Sanam Singh of Virginia, 4-8. Garcia de Andoain and freshman
Nobu Tanaka/Potomac, Md. ( St. Johns College HS ) fell to Chase Helpingstine/Alberto Rojas of Elon in the doubles qualification, 1-8.
