Women's Tennis Falls To Stony Brook 6-1

Sophomore Romana Bucur Wins At #1 Doubles Against Stony Brook

Longwood University dropped a 6-1 women’s tennis decision against Stony Brook University Tuesday at the Lancer Courts. The Lancers are now 3-6, while the Seawolves improved to 4-5. Longwood will play again Thursday, March 24, against UNC-Wilmington at 4:30 p.m. in Virginia Beach at the Hampton Roads Elite 8 Collegiate Tournament.

At home, the Lancers garnered two doubles wins for their only team point. Sophomores Romana Bucur/Brasov, Romania (Joan Mesota) and Lexi Torrice/Richmond (Douglas Freeman) won at #1 (9-7), along with freshmen Elena Triebskorn/Heddesheim, Germany (Carl-Benz-Gymnasium) and Brittany Huddleston/Roanoke (Cave Spring) at #2 (8-3).
