Longwood Athletics

Office of Student-Athlete Academic Services
Mission

The mission of the Office of Student-Athlete Academic Services (OSAAS) is to support and assist student-athletes in their academic, athletic, personal and career pursuits. We believe in the value of empowering the student-athlete to reach his/her potential through education and experience. We are committed to upholding the integrity of Longwood University and its Athletic Department through academic honesty and compliance with all University, NCAA, and conference policies
The support program integrates its services with those offered by the University. The OSAAS works closely with instructional faculty, coaches, and campus departments to ensure that student-athletes are formulating and meeting their academic goals while participating in intercollegiate athletics. OSAAS provides additional services for academic and personal success through programs such as study table, CHAMPS/Life Skills, and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
OSAAS should be consulted as a secondary advising resource, reviewing NCAA eligibility requirements, and resolving particular student-athlete issues (such as scheduling conflicts). Ultimately, the responsibility for knowing requirements and deadlines rests with the student-athlete.
